Your voice is a very important tool in training.  You must use the proper tone in your voice to help your dog understand what you expect.
POSITIVE -- A happy up-beat positive tone will motivate your dog.

Pup Attention
Use pups name to get their attention. No "Hey", "Dog", "Dummy", etc.
If pup does not look at you then tap puppy on his/her shoulder when calling their name.
ALWAYS reward and praise when your pup response by looking at you.

Lead Walking
Don't expect pup to walk on lead the first time you put lead and collar on your dog.
Let pup get us to collar and Lead.
Coax pup to walk, don't drag pup.
Start out with short walks in the neighborhood
Make everything POSITVE.

Manners
Pups need to be introduced to other pups (Once vaccination are current and complete).
Pups need to be introduced to Friends and Family
Use "No" as means of telling your dog his/her behavier is unwanted.
If pup jumps up at people tell him "No Jump" as you bump his/her chest with your knee.  This is a bump not a kick.  With small dogs step back quickly as pup is jumping so not to make contact and tell them "No Jump".

Misc.
Remember it  takes positive training to make a good dog.  You just can't add water and have a perfect dog.
Train everyday day for 15 to 20 minutes.
NEVER discipline you pup for comng to you.  If pup does something wrong you go to them.  If not, pup will stop coming to you when you call them.
A HEALTHY PUP IS A HAPPY PUP.
